Encore une fois, on sent dans cette peinture la force de l’id\u00e9e d’emprisonnement que ressent le peintre pendant cette p\u00e9riode particuli\u00e8re
Ce n’est pas une oeuvre joyeuse, m\u00eame si Londres est ma ville de coeur, ici, c’est un ressenti de la douleur, de cette crise qui s’est abattue sur le monde. Londres est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en force, en violence dans des tons de rouges et de briques qui contrastent vivement avec la douceur du ciel bleu. Elle est encore plus brutale que les deux autres oeuvres sur le m\u00eame th\u00e8me \u00ab\u00a0Sicily, London\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Public library\u00a0\u00bb.
La peinture est peinte sur une toile avec des collages de papier sur lesquels sont \u00e9crits \u00ab\u00a0Lockdown-selfisolation-coronavarus\u00a0\u00bb
Ces papiers maintes fois recouverts ont presque disparu sont les couches successives de peintures, n\u00e9anmoins on peut en voir un vestige sur la partie gauche du tableau, et on peut voir les traces de papier qui donne \u00e0 la peinture un aspect irr\u00e9gulier.
Ce n’est d\u00e9finitivement pas une peinture \u00ab\u00a0l\u00e9g\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0jolie\u00a0\u00bb , on sent la force, la violence du th\u00e8me. On n’est plus proche de l’expressionnisme que du figuratif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another example here of the feeling of the painter during this peculiar time in the world: a feeling of oppression, of imprisonment and of violence.

This painting is neither \u00ab\u00a0beautiful\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0light\u00a0\u00bb: it’s a painting of fear, violence and desperation.

The violence of the reds against the light touch of the blue skies gives an idea of enfermement. It’s the idea that we are in self-isolation and beyond that we are facing a future that frightens us.
It’s more an expressionism painting than figurative really.
It’s an expression of a feeling.
some parts of the painting have been covered by bits of paper on which was written: \u00ab\u00a0lockdown self-isolation coronavirus\u00a0\u00bb. the paper has been covered by layers and layers of painting as usual on my work, only a tiny bit of paper still is visible on a left part of the painting.
This bits of paper make the painting rough not smooth on the touch, with rough brush strokes on it.
