Salon d’Automne – Paris 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A l’Origine…\u00e9tait ma ville. Cette ville fascinante et monstrueuse, belle et hideuse. Cette ville bruyante et solitaire \u00e0 la fois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette peinture est un hommage<\/strong> \u00e0 la ville, c’est une peinture tr\u00e8s personnelle<\/strong> qui me d\u00e9voile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle explique et permet de comprendre comment ma naissance et mon adolescence dans une grande ville ont influenc\u00e9 mes choix de vie, mes engagements et mes choix d\u2019artiste. Comment mon regard d’enfant et d’adolescente sur cette mar\u00e9e d’immeubles \u00e0 fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 mon avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle m\u2019a toujours fascin\u00e9e cette ville sans cesse en mouvement, o\u00f9 des vies grouillent, s\u2019\u00e9panouissent, vivent et meurent sous nos yeux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais si la ville brille par ses couleurs, si elle \u00e9tourdit par ses bruits et ses odeurs, elle peut aussi cacher derri\u00e8re ces rideaux color\u00e9s et ces murs blancs gris, la solitude, les non-dits et la violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce tableau parle donc des contradictions de la vie en ville : les rencontres, le mouvement et la vitesse de la vie mais parle aussi de la solitude et de l\u2019enfermement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est par le style pictural et les couleurs que j\u2019exprime cette ambivalence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u2019une vue banale sur des murs et un bloc d\u2019immeubles, il a fallu faire sortir par les couleurs et la touche picturale toutes les \u00e9motions li\u00e9es au sujet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ainsi, le ciel est d\u2019un bleu vif et profond, mais ce n\u2019est pas un ciel apais\u00e9, il est mouvant, emprisonnant comme une mer de temp\u00eate. Les nuages sombres qui apparaissent en haut de la toile laissent supposer qu\u2019un orage s\u2019approche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les couleurs vives aux fen\u00eatres donnent de la vie et de la gait\u00e9 aux immeubles \u00e0 l\u2019architecture harmonieuse mais parfois trop stricte et sans imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les couleurs vivent des immeubles modernes et le soleil qui les \u00e9claire s\u2019opposent aux petites maisonnettes du premier plan, emprisonn\u00e9es sans lumi\u00e8re entre deux immeubles r\u00e9cents. On y voit l\u2019effet de la gentrification, la disparition de la mixit\u00e9 sociale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les coups de pinceaux rapides, les couches successives de peinture, les couleurs sombres au premier plan, en opposition \u00e0 celles vives et lumineuses du second plan ; le travail dans la mati\u00e8re ont pour effet de casser l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un paysage urbain na\u00eff, calme et apais\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La ville est faite de contradictions et d\u2019imperfections, de douceur et de violence, de lumi\u00e8re et d\u2019ombres et c\u2019est ce qui en fait toute sa beaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le style pictural est rapide, dynamique et audacieux. Il est fait de couches successives, rapides qui soulignent la folie urbaine avec ces immeubles qui se poussent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le tableau est pr\u00eat \u00e0 accrocher au mur, il est prot\u00e9g\u00e9 par un vernis acrylique brillant qui fait ressortir l\u2019intensit\u00e9 des couleurs.
Il est dat\u00e9, sign\u00e9 et d\u00e9livr\u00e9 avec un certificat d\u2019authenticit\u00e9 et une facture.
Les bords du tableau sont prot\u00e9g\u00e9s par un ruban blanc cache-clous: pas besoin d’encadrement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0At the Origin\u00a0\u00bb… was my city. This stunning and monstrous city, beautiful and hideous . Noisy and lonely at the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This painting is a tribute to the city<\/strong>, it’s a very personal one <\/strong>that unveils a great deal of me. It explains and helps to understand how my birth and adolescence in a big city influenced my life choices, my commitments and my choices as an artist. How my hours spent looking at these buildings shaped my future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ever-changing cities have always fascinated me: it\u2019s where lives swarm, blossom, live and die before our eyes.

This painting therefore speaks of the contradictions of life in the city, the movement and the speed of life but also speaks of loneliness and confinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the city shines with its colors, if it stuns with its noises and smells, it can also hide behind these colourful curtains and these grey white walls, the solitude, the unspoken and the violence.

It is by the pictorial style and the colours that I express this ambivalence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a banal view on walls and a block of buildings, it was necessary to use colours and the pictorial touch to express the emotions related to the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, the sky is bright and deep blue, but it is not a calm sky, it is moving, imprisoning like a storm sea. The dark clouds at the top of the canvas suggest that a storm is approaching.

The bright colors of the windows give life and cheerfulness to the buildings with harmonious architecture but sometimes too strict and without imagination.

The colours of modern buildings and the sun that illuminates them are opposed to the small houses in the foreground, imprisoned without light between two recent buildings. We see the effect of gentrification, the disappearance of social diversity.0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rapid brushstrokes, the successive layers of paint,  the use of paint with no water have the effect of breaking the idea of a naive urban landscape, calm and soothed.
The city is made up of contradictions and imperfections, of sweetness and violence, of light and shadows and this is what makes it all its beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The pictorial style is fast, dynamic and bold. It is made up of successive, rapid layers that underline the urban madness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
