Painting: Acrylic on Canvas + wooden frame

In the series of winter colours, this is the last one: this one represents one of the oldest theatre in Paris: Le Ranenagh. With it’s wooden beams, it’s velvet chairs. The feeling of heat and peace cut from the world gives you already a sense of unreal, of fantasy…
Before the play is starting you are already in a middle of a show. Shakespeare characters, witches and trolls are waiting for you in silence.
With this painting and « Juliet’s Balcony » before that, I try to get rid of perspective, forms, and little by little focus to the essential: light and shadow.
