En 2022 – 2023 j’ai fait une série de quatre tableaux sur un voyage en train de « Penn Station New-York to Washington » afin de la présenter au Salon d’Art TOAF (The Other Art Fair ; organisé par Saatchiart) à Londres en mars 2023.
J’ai peint cette série comme une suite vidéo avec des éléments qui se suivent dans les quatre tableaux, comme un lien. (Les couleurs, les nuages, les Tags reproduits dans les trois œuvres).
Ces tableaux représentent des petites villes de banlieue, avec leurs usines désaffectées, leurs maisons en bois qui se ressemblent. On est loin de la grandeur et de la richesse de Manhattan. Loin des rues pavées d’or de l’Amérique.
Ce tableau est plus statique que ceux du quadriptyque.
Il s’agit d’une allégorie de la solitude. Baltimore est sur les rails. Quelle ironie, ce bâtiment abandonné, tagué, au bord des rails avec sa publicité à moitié effacée.
C’est une allégorie de l’espoir. Oui, vous êtes sur la bonne voie, malgré les apparences et les cailloux semés sur votre chemin.

Le style est figuratif mais impressionniste, je montre une atmosphère, pas une représentation photographique de la réalité. .
Le tableau est prêt à accrocher au mur, il est protégé par un vernis acrylique brillant qui fait ressortir l’intensité des couleurs, les cotés sont peints en rouge.
Il est daté, signé et délivré avec un certificat d’authenticité et une facture.

In 2022-2023, I created a series of four paintings about a train journey from « Penn Station New York to Washington » to present at the TOAF Art Fair (The Other Art Fair; organized by Saatchiart) in London in March 2023.
I painted this series like a video sequence with elements that follow each other in the four paintings, creating a link (the colors, the clouds, the tags reproduced in the three works).
These paintings represent small suburban towns, with their abandoned factories and similar-looking wooden houses. We are far from the grandeur and wealth of Manhattan, far from the streets paved with gold in America.
This painting is more static than those of the quadriptych. It is an allegory of solitude. Baltimore is on track. How ironic, this abandoned, tagged building by the tracks with its half-erased advertisement. It is an allegory of hope. Yes, you are on the right track, despite appearances and the stones scattered in your path. And you, are you on track?
The style is still figurative but impressionist; I want to show an atmosphere not a photograph of a place.
