Noël au Printemps. Grand magasin parisien décembre 2018.
J’aime la ville, les silences de la nuit et ses lumières en hiver qui nous font oublier le froid et le gris de la journée.
Je rends les couleurs de l’hiver très brillantes, lumineuses et colorées pour jouer sur le contraste avec les ombres, la nuit et les bruns et noirs.
La ville m’attire, me fascine tant parce qu’elle est vivante et que tant de cœurs y battent.

Noël au Printemps-Paris- Paris Printemps’ big store in winter. It’s time for the last Christmas shopping. Big stores are all lighten and the whites, reds and yellows are like a lighthouse in the night.
I love the streets at night when there is a feeling of quiet and warm even if it’s winter and if it’s in a big city.
I did a lof of winter cities paintings this year because I Iove cities and it’s always a pleasure to depict them, because I love the colours of winter: for me, red and yellow, sometimes brown.
I definitively like warm and bright colours to contrast to brown and black colours. I don’t want to be precise in my gestures, in the lines, I want to convey a feeling and I hope I do it so.

Le manège enchanté. Nostalgie douce-amère.
Paris, Hôtel de ville; le petit manège aux chevaux de bois tourne et rempli la ville de ses lumières enchantées.
Malgré les couleurs vives il y a un sentiment de nostalgie du temps qui passe…. Le petit garçon voit le manège avec son père, puis il devient père lui-même et finalement grand père.

Paris, Place of the town hall. A merry-go-round is waiting for children and adults to climb on the horses. The lights from it are illuminating the whole place.
It’s a bittersweet painting: lights and colours represent the life, the childhood but the blue night surrounding it represents the time that goes by…
This paintings smells of sweets, of toffee apples and salt from the river Seine near by.

From a photograph I took myself of the Sacré Coeur, A basilica in Montmartre, Paris. The church is overlooking Paris and its famous rooftops made of zinc.
Montmartre was the well known area of painters and artists when the prices were not so high as today!
The Basilica is very famous too and welcome millions of tourists every year. I enjoyed painting the rooftops, I like them a lot and I put this big church in the middle of them, like a symbol protecting the city.
