J’ai un amour inconditionnel pour les grands magasins parisiens, londoniens, pour l’élégance de leur architecture et la beauté de leur décoration du 19^ème siècle.

La verrière lumineuse des Galeries Lafayette est une invitation à la rêverie, les formes rondes et les couleurs douces des arceaux sont comme un cocon dans lequel on se sent bien, à l’abri, comme dans une matrice.

Ce tableau est un hommage à cette architecture à cet art décoratif d’un siècle passé, à ces hommes qui ont travaillé la pierre, le verre et l’acier.

Je suis admirative des matériaux lourds utilisés (pierre, acier) qui pourtant donnent l’aspect de la dentelle. On est dans le masculin et le féminin.  Il n’y a pas d’opposition mais une harmonie.

Mon tableau est fait de milliers de petites touches de couleurs, parfois imperceptibles : ce sont des petites touches impressionnistes qui font cette composition figurative.

Les tons doux des camaïeux bruns des arcades servent à mettre en valeur la verrière multicolore.

Les personnages du premier plan sont suggérés, ils se fondent dans le décor.

Le tableau est prêt à accrocher au mur, il est protégé par un vernis acrylique brillant qui fait ressortir l’intensité des couleurs.
Il est daté, signé et délivré avec un certificat d’authenticité et une facture.
Les bords du tableau sont protégés par un ruban blanc cache-clous: pas besoin d’encadrement

I feel an unconditional love for stores in Paris, London, for the elegance of their architecture and beauty of their 19^th decoration style.

 The light glass roof of the “Galeries Lafayette” big store in Paris, is an invitation to reverie: it’s like walking in a field full of flowers and butterflies. The warm colours of the arcades and their rounded arches are like a cocoon warm and protective, like a matrix.

This painting is a tribute to the artists of the previous centuries and the craftspeople who did such a remarkable piece of art. It’s also the representation of the harmony between male and female : the power of the strong material (stone and steel) to make such a delicate piece of work lace-like.

My painting is made of thousands of multi-coloured touches of paint, sometimes imperceptible: these little impressionism touches make a realistic painting.   

The warmth light brown camaïeu of the arches serve to highlight the multi-coloured glass roof.

People in the foreground are suggested; they are not the main topic of the painting.

La Samaritaine, chef-d’œuvre de l’Art Déco et de l’Art nouveau, récemment réouverte après des années de travaux. Ce grand magasin parisien rénové fait éclater la lumière et le soleil par son plafond vitré de la Belle Epoque. On peut y admirer la finesse des rampes, l’élégance des peintures. Les bleus profonds, les jaunes dorés sont autant d’écrins pour mettre en valeur les luxueux articles présentés. On est dans un nouveau temple du luxe et de la beauté.

En utilisant des bruns chauds et des bleus en opposition, des jaunes et de la peinture dorée, j’ai voulu créer une atmosphère de douceur, de luxe et de volupté.

C’est un lieu où l’on se sent bien, où l’on souhaite rester pour s’asseoir et regarder ces murs peints et cette verrière ; comme un musée.

This is the representation of “La Samaritaine” Paris; a newly renovated big famous store in Paris on the river Seine near the Pont-Neuf and Le Louvre Museum.

Built in 1870, it’s a beautiful gem of Art-Deco, Art Nouveau, with delicate paintings and stunning sculptures inside and outside the building.

The inside of the building with ironed framed glass roof is a chef-d’oeuvre. The blues and yellows of the site are like a jewellery box for the luxurious products on display: fashion, perfumes, hats and bags: it’s a temple of luxury.

Lots of people are visiting this place to look at the beautiful ceiling made of glass roof, and at the Art Nouveau paintings on the walls.

In using some blue and warm brown colours, golden painting and yellows, I wanted the painting to be luxuriant and cosy.

The idea of a place where you feel comfortable and surrounded by beauty. Where you want to sit and enjoy the beauty of the place like in a museum.
