Cinq heures du soir dans le quartier des affaires de Londres « La City ».

Les salariés, banquiers, avocats se précipitent sur les transports en commun pour rentrer chez eux un téléphone à l’oreille pour conclure la dernière affaire, régler le dernier point de détail d’un contrat. D’autres vont partager une bière au pub du coin pour échanger sur les dossiers, les résultats du foot ou les derniers potins de l’entreprise.

 La ville fourmille de monde, de couleurs et de bruit. De mon bus à étage je regarde ces fourmis se mouvoir sur les trottoirs, mais déjà la nuit tombe et les employés des grandes entreprises vont laisser la place aux touristes et aux oiseaux de nuit.

La ville évolue dans un mouvement constant, par son architecture, à la fois sévère et imposante comme la Bank of England, élancée et moderne comme les nouveaux buildings de verre.  

A l’aide d’un trait rapide et de couleurs vives, je cherche à donner un mouvement à cette ville en balance entre la modernité et la tradition, où les humains se fondent dans l’asphalte : encore une fois dans mon œuvre, les immeubles sont immuables, les humains sont de passage.  

Le tableau est protégé par un vernis brillant qui fait ressortir les couleurs. Les cotés sont peints en bleu.

Five p.m. in the City, London’s business district.
Employees, bankers, lawyers rush to jump on public transport to go home, a phone pressed to their ear to close the last deal, to settle the final detail of a contract. Others head to the pub on the corner to share a beer and talk about current cases, football results, or the latest office gossip.

The city teems with people, colours and noise. From the upper deck of my bus, I watch these ants moving along the pavements, but already night is falling and the employees of the major corporations will soon give way to tourists and night owls.

The city evolves in a constant movement, through its architecture — both severe and imposing like the Bank of England, or slender and modern like the new glass skyscrapers.

With quick lines and bright colours, I try to give movement to this city caught in the balance between modernity and tradition, where humans merge into the asphalt: once again in my work, the buildings are immovable, while people are only passing through.

Rock n’ Rolls

Cette peinture représente une voiture de luxe moderne garée devant une rangée d’élégantes maisons de style géorgien à Londres. Elle dégage une atmosphère d’opulence et de raffinement urbain.
J’ai utilisé des aplats de couleurs vives et franches ainsi que des coups de pinceau expressifs et décidés, donnant à l’ensemble une sensibilité proche du pop art. Le ciel turquoise et la pelouse vert citron contrastent vivement avec les gris et les bleus profonds de la voiture, créant une tension visuelle entre la luminosité naturelle et la brillance industrielle. Les surfaces réfléchissantes de la voiture, rendues par des touches de bleu froid et de gris, rappellent les distorsions stylisées de la lumière dans les scènes urbaines de David Hockney ou Richard Estes.
