La ville se protège, les habitants se cachent derrières leurs fenêtres dans leurs immeubles.
Le temps s’est arrêté, plus un bruit ne vient couvrir les pleurs des enfants qui s’ennuient.
Les buildings de cette ville (imaginée de New-York) construits les uns contre les autres, les uns sur les autres pourraient être angoissant et étouffants;
cependant la douceur dans le choix des couleurs donne un ton plus gai; presque « cosy »
l’imprécision de certaines parties du tableau donne un sentiment d’irréel qui évite l’angoisse et l’étouffement propre au sujet

Peur sur la ville/ Fear on the city: acrylic painting multi colored

This painting is referring to the current fear that spread on all countries in the world: disrupting the habits, the economy and changing the way of thinking of the people.
In France, Spain, Italy, in Californy, in New-york people are asked to stay at home to protect themselves and others from the virus
Some of them are staying in a country house with a garden, some others are confined in tiny appartements in cities.

Ce tableau montre que derrière les apparences de la beauté et de la brillance, il peut y avoir des cotés sombres…
Ceci vaut pour la ville, comme pour les humains!
Ne pas toujours se fier aux apparences.

Ce tableau représente un New-York idéalisé, plus proche de l’ambiance cinématographique que de la réalité, cependant j’ai fait des clins d’œil à la ville en représentant certains immeubles connus…

It’s a fictional city and yet some of the buildings are painted from the real ones.
The city of lights and fame can hide some dark places.
It’s a metaphor based on human beings: you have to guess what is behind a smile, a happy face, a nice person…
The city has two faces: people play some roles…

The atmosphere of the painting is based on cinema settings : colourful and unreal

Vue d’une rue de New-York d’un pont d’une voie de métro désaffectée
J’ai choisi cette vue à cause de la lumière qui joue avec les ombres.
Les couleurs sont fortes, le contraste entre les ombres et la lumière est décidément vif .
Les touches de peinture se font dans la matière: presque sans eau.

Je lui mets des habits de lumière, je lui donne des couleurs: cette ville qui a servi comme support à ma peinture s’est transformée en spectacle, en comédie musicale!

The « Musicals » painting wants to tell you that when you’re not happy with your life, make it better, dream it better.
It’s what I’m doing when I’m painting New-York, my inspiration from this city comes from the fact that I see it through the lenses of a movie camera!
I do not see NY, I life it, I create it, I imagine it.
This is not the real NY but the one I want to see,
the world I want to see! Full of lights, of music: a Broadway musical!

La mise en perspective de cet Hotel Hyatt à New-York donne l’impression que l’immeuble va s’envoler, il semble atteindre le ciel.
Le ciel lumineux qui fait se refléter les immeubles dans les murs de glace de l’hotel donne une double impression de puissance. Mais au lieu d’écraser le passant, il l’élève vers le ciel.

The glass of the Hyatt hotel in New-york is reflecting the other buildings and make them even more impressive.

The contract between a blur turquoise sky and the brown orange of the building adds some king of softness to the imposing skyscrapers and the perspective
