Série de petits formats partie 1: London chic!

« Série Londres de nuit » dans les quartiers chics de la capitale anglaise: Soho et Kensington

Les photos de ces tableaux furent prises en mars dernier lorsque j’ai fait le salon « The Other Art Fair » dans le quartier de Shoreditch.

Londres de nuit reste colorée et cozy, les lumières des lampadaires mettent en valeur les immeubles de briques, les Pubs et autres commerces de brique et de glace.

Ici, nous avons un Pub célèbre à SOHO, Le Clachan, dans ce quartier centre de la ville, celui des spectacles et des plaisirs, restaurants, pubs… (tableau 2 et 3) Un magasin chic dans le quartier de Kensington (Jo Malone) (tableau 1), une façade victorienne de brique dans ce même quartier.

This new series is part of a series of paintings about London night.
The photographs for the paintings were taken by me during my stay in london in March 2023 for the « The Other Art Fair » that I was proud to attend to.

This first series of small size paintings are made from photographs taken in the wealthy parts of the British capitale: Here a famous pub (The Clachan) in Soho (paintings 2 and 3), a famous chic parfum store (Jo Malone) in Kensington (painting 1), and a brick frontage in the same wealthy part of the city.

London is always cozy and deliciously colorful. It’s always a pleasure to paint it again and again. It feels at home!

Shoreditch 2

Cette peinture fait partie d’une nouvelle série sur Londres de nuit.

Shoreditch: quartier est du sud de Londres, dans la nuit. J’ai fait des photos de ce quartier pendant que je participais au salon d’art avec Saatchiart .
Ce quartier anciennement de mauvaise réputation; qui conjuguait pauvreté, prostitution et Jack l’Eventreur, côtoie le monde des affaires et La City, pas loin de là.
Les salles d’exposition d’art ont remplacés les usines, les logements pauvres sont devenus chics et les prix se sont envolés.

Shoreditch Shadows

Cette peinture fait partie d’une série de trois, quatre tableaux sur Londres de nuit que j’espère présenter à l’étranger en 2024.

Les photos de ces tableaux furent prises en mars dernier lorsque j’ai fait le salon « The Other Art Fair » dans le quartier de Shoreditch.

Il y a une atmosphère particulière dans ce quartier du sud de Londres. Avec ses petites maisons anciennes tagguées, ses anciennes usines transformées en lieu d’art contemporain, et les immeubles de bureaux de verre et de de pierre qui poussent non loin comme des champignons.

C’est comme un mélange de la vieille Europe et de la jeunesse des USA.

This new painting is part of a series of paintings about London night.

I took some photographs of Shoreditch and Kensington when I was attending The Other Art Fair in London with @saatchiart last March.
I didn’t really know this Shoreditch area in the South of London.
There is a special atmosphere about it, with it’s old brick and mortar houses, vintage shops, and the shape of old factories in the area.
Nearby the modern buildings made of glass, always changing, always growing.
It’s a mix between old Europe and young New-York.

Cette peinture fait partie d’une nouvelle série tableaux sur Londres de nuit que j’espère présenter série à l’étranger en 2024.

Les photos de ces tableaux furent prises en mars dernier lorsque j’ai fait le salon « The Other Art Fair » ici dans le quartier de Chelsea, en direction de Harrods, un des grands magasins célèbres de Londres.

C’était un soir pluvieux, les lumières des phares de voiture se confondaient avec ceux des lampadaires. Je n’ai pas reconnu ce quartier de Londres que je connais surement, mais dans la nuit, on n’a pas la même perception de la ville.

This new painting is part of a series of paintings about London night. I’m working on them to show them abroad next year.

It’s a trip at night towards Harrods. I took photographs of this street at night, on the rain in march 2023 when I attended The Other Art Fair on Brick Lane, Shoreditch.

After a long day, I decided to have a walk and my feet brought me to this area. Is it difficult to recognise a place at night, don’t you think? I perhaps knew it but the light, the colours are so different at night that it’s difficult to know where we are.

Le Secret

Les lumières dans la nuit londonienne. Dans le quartier de Kensington, au sud de Londres. Ce tableau fait partie de la série « Kensington and Chelsea » de nuit.

J’aime ces architectures, ces briques, en contraste avec les lumières des appartements.
Le secret est celui que les habitants cachent derrière les murs et les fenêtres de leur appartement ou maison. Qu’est-ce qu’il y a derrière ces murs? Des histoires d’amour, de histoires de famille, d’argent?

N’avez vous pas envie de découvrir cette piscine au rez-de-chaussée de cette maison victorienne, de vous faire inviter? de croire que vous êtes le propriétaire? N’était-ce pas le début d’un roman, d’un film?

On peut imaginer des vies derrière ces fenêtres, des histoires différentes de la notre. On est plus proche du film, de la série, que de la réalité. Le style est impressionniste, c’est une impression, un rêve.

A light in the night in a peaceful night that settles on London streets, in Kensington and Chelsea area. In the series: Kensington and Chelsea at night.

I love and I did paint this area and these buildings a lot already but I can’t stop painting them. I love the contrast between the cheerfulness of the lights in the flats and the rough structure of the bricks.

What happens behind the curtains of the houses in front of you? Love stories, money stories? Don’t you want to be invited to stay in the house with the swimming pool or imagine that it’s yours?


You can imagine the life of the people living there, make them yours. This painting is more like a movie than the reproduction of the real life. It’s a dream.

Un hôtel andalou

A première vue ce tableau représente un hôtel de luxe au soleil andalou, dans une maison bourgeoise transformée en hôtel, un jour de vacances loin de tous les tracas de la vie quotidienne, une échappatoire de rêve pour oublier le quotidien.  

Mais pas seulement.

On retrouve dans ce tableau des codes qui expliquent ma personnalité :

La terre : mes racines, ce qui me relie à la réalité à mon passé.

La maison : la protection, le refuge.

Le soleil rendu par les couleurs vives, les ombres et les lumières : l’énergie et la créativité.

Le rouge : symbole de la passion, celle qui me fait avancer.

Les arbres fous qui volent au vent : la folie, mon non conformisme.

Il manque l’eau qui représente pour moi l’apaisement, mais la couleur du ciel représentée par ce bleu lumineux, exprime la même chose : l’apaisement, le calme.

Ce tableau est donc une expression profonde de ce que je suis. Une mise à nu devant le regard des autres.

An Andalousian hotel: At first glance this painting represents a bourgeois house made into a luxury hotel in the South of Spain, on a quiet and nice summer day.

But it is not only that, it is above all the expression of my character; ma personnality that I put into this painting:

The earth: a symbol of reality, my roots, my past.

The house: symbol of refuge , of protection.

the sun : represented by the bright lights and shadows, symbol of creativity and energy.

The red colours: symbol of passion; what makes me go on in life…

The crazy trees in the sun; not realistic, there express the craziness the non-conformism of the artist.

Normally I should have put some blue swimming pool symbol of calm and peace, but the bright blue sky has the same function in this painting.

So, this painting is a real expression of myself, of who I am, not just a painting of a house under the sun. I stand myself naked in front of the public!

Sunny Cordoue

Mais je l’ai représenté vide de monde, comme un cocon rien que pour vous : c’est votre palais, c’est votre maison, c’est votre rêve. Le temps n’existe plus, les visiteurs n’existent plus et vous seuls profitez du lieu en toute tranquillité.

But I wanted the place for you only, like a cocoon, it’s your palace, your house, your dream. Far from the crowd, the time has stopped, the tourists don’t exist anymore, you alone can enjoy the serenity of the place.

Rainy day at the seaside

Marbella: Andalousie, sud de l’Espagne sous la pluie.

La Costa del Sol, ne porte pas bien son nom ce matin.

La ville pleure, les gouttes tombent sur les arbres et les pavés, la ville de Marbella perd ses couleurs et les touristes s’enferment dans les immeubles qui longent la côte ou dans les restaurants et cafés de bord de mer. Les plantes et les arbres saluent en revanche ce don du ciel !

Andalousie South of Spain. (Marbella; Costa del Sol (Coast of the sun)

The town is under the rain, the city of Marbella famous for its sunny days has taken out its umbrellas.

Tourists and inhabitants are stuck in the numerous buildings that follow the coast or in restaurants and cafés. The plans and trees, fortunately are welcoming the rain as a gift from the sky!
